Servers allocated at carrier sides all over a country or a region are controlled and fed from a national play out center (NPOC) or a regional play out center (RPOC). Through GRID-TV’s international play out center (iPOC) a virtual network serves interconnectivity between and maintenance of these POCs.

An NPOC or RPOC consists of three main components:
TV-Edit - a content management and program scheduling - is designed according requirements and habits of broadcasters. FLBnn (File Load Balancing neuronal net) is ensuring optimized content distribution and high reliability. TV-Serve finally delivers the content to the end user in a bandwidth according connection conditions.
Interfaces to common editing systems and business software, e.g. billing or DRM systems, come along with the platform. Gateways to dedicated environments, e.g. for multicast in a network capable of and to other transmission technologies such as DVB-S or mobile networks, elevate the platform to the universal Internet-TV platform.

A growing number of services utilizes the platform: special interest and niche content providers benefiting from low investment, sports organizations addressing their supporters, broadcasters re-marketing content in dedicated programs, socio-demographic broadcasts to the appreciation of people living abroad, and enterprises running corporate TV services for employee information as well as for customer relationship.
